Pearl Gray Copper-Infused Silk Eye Mask, Vesper
Intelligence is in the details.
Slightly oversized by design. The Vesper copper silk eye mask settles across the face in pearl gray copper-infused mulberry silk for cool, clever, complete coverage that wraps you in rest.
Made from our signature copper-infused silk, this sleep mask works as hard as you’re about to rest. Copper's documented role in collagen synthesis and antimicrobial properties are the same reason it's in every Copper North pillowcase. Silk reduces friction on the delicate skin around the eyes, where signs of aging show earliest and touch matters most.
The smartest move you'll make all night.

How do I wash my copper-infused silk eye mask?
Hand wash in cold water with a silk-safe detergent - we recommend Soak Wash. Submerge, gently agitate, squeeze out excess water without wringing, and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight or heat. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or iron. The same care that protects the silk protects the copper infusion; gentle handling, cool water, and line drying will keep both in good condition wash after wash.
Silk is a protein-based fiber, unlike cotton (a cellulose- or plant-based fiber) or synthetics, which come from petroleum. Regular detergents are formulated for cotton and synthetics, which means higher pH levels and often enzymes designed to break down protein-based stains, like food, sweat, and grass stains. Both features are genuinely damaging to silk over time: high pH strips the natural proteins that give silk its sheen and softness, while enzymes degrade the fiber structure wash by wash.
Soak Wash is plant-derived, pH-appropriate for delicate natural fibers, and gentle enough to clean without quietly destroying what you're cleaning.

Will the copper infusion wash out over time?
Copper North's silk is infused using a bath immersion process that bonds copper ions throughout the fiber matrix rather than coating the surface. This means the copper is integrated into the fiber itself, not sitting on top of it; it doesn't wash off the way a surface treatment would. Our finished fabrics are independently tested before going to market to confirm copper is present and distributed throughout the fiber, not just at the surface.

Will this eye mask work if I wear eyelash extensions?
The Umbra is contoured and sits close to the face without putting pressure on the eye area, making it suitable for wearing with lash extensions. The Vesper is generously oversized and settles across the face with more coverage - some customers with extensions find this works well, others prefer the contoured fit of the Umbra. If lash extensions are a consideration, the Umbra is the safer choice.
Is this eye mask suitable for side sleepers?
Yes, both models are designed with all sleep positions in mind. The silk surface reduces friction against the pillow, and neither model has structural elements that would be uncomfortable to sleep on. The Umbra's contoured form is matched to the face, which some side sleepers enjoy. The Vesper's generous coverage works well for back sleepers and side sleepers alike.
Can I use this eye mask on a plane or while traveling?
Both models are well-suited for travel. The silk is lightweight, compresses easily, and the no-pressure design of the Umbra is particularly practical for long-haul flights where comfort over several hours matters.
Can I wear this with eye cream or skincare products underneath?
Yes, and the Umbra specifically is designed not to press against the eye area, which means eye cream applied before bed stays where it was applied rather than being absorbed by or displaced by the mask. The Vesper's slightly looser fit around the eye area also accommodates skincare products, while its broader coverage means more copper-infused silk surface is in contact with the skin overall.
What size is the eye mask? Will it fit my face?
Both models are designed to fit a range of face shapes and sizes. The Vesper is slightly oversized - it provides broad coverage and sits across rather than conforming tightly to facial contours. The Umbra is contoured to follow the face's natural shape, sitting closer without relying on size alone for coverage. If you're between the two, the Umbra suits those who prefer a precise fit; the Vesper suits those who prefer full, dramatic coverage.
Is copper-infused silk safe for sensitive skin?
Copper North's silk comes from suppliers certified to OEKO-Tex Standard 100, which tests finished textiles against strict criteria for restricted substances, pH ranges, and parameters relevant to skin contact. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and low-friction. Copper is an essential trace mineral already present in the human body. Our finished fabrics are independently tested to confirm copper levels are within ranges established as safe for prolonged skin contact. If you have a specific metal sensitivity or dermatological condition, we recommend consulting with a healthcare provider before use.
